I let someone that wasn't God take control.

This past weekend, I let someone steal my happiness.

I woke up Sunday feeling overwhelmed by God's love. I had an old friend come to church with me and during service I lifted my hands a little during worship. Yes, that's a big deal when you don't usually do it. I could feel God's arms around me and my friend and I just closed my eyes and worshiped from the bottom of my heart. After service, I volunteered in the 4 year old classroom and that fills my cup up every time I'm with those babies. I can't explain it but if you ever had a little piece of you that wants to volunteer at church, do it!

After church, I had my last long run before my half marathon that I'm running in 2 weeks. I ran 10 miles... 10. A few months ago, I couldn't even fathom my body being able to do that and Sunday, I ran every mile with a smile on my face and a full heart. I was thankful for my health and my determination to reach my goals. I felt like I blacked out for my 12 weeks of training and woke up being able to run 10 miles without stopping - it's a crazy feeling.

I mean what a great day, am I right?

Then the darkness came and I let it take me under. I let someone steal my happiness. I let someone tell me my worth. I let someone that wasn't God take control of my life. I felt like this person pulled my heart from God and dragged me under ground.

In that moment

I was hurt.

I was confused.

I was broken.

I questioned my worth.

I called one of my friends in tears. This friend brought me back up. This friend is so grounded in her faith that I could hear God speaking through her. So I'm going to share a little bit of what she shared with me because it is so good you guys! If you tend to let others steal your happiness, listen up.

THE ONLY PERSON THAT CAN TELL YOU YOUR WORTH IS JESUS!

Bottom line.

God created you. He chose to make you, you. Like don't you feel so special? Your worth and your happiness is in God alone. Don't let someone take that from you. Who cares what others think of you? Who cares about the negativity others bring in your life? Who flipping cares if someone is poisoning your name to others? YOU SHOULDN'T CARE because guess what, the ONLY person that you should care of what they think of you is Jesus.

He brings you out of the darkness.

He chases you every time you run from Him.

He pulls you away from evil.

He will NEVER stop trying to rescue you from your hardest fights.

HOW AMAZING IS IT THAT WE HAVE A GOD THAT WILL NEVER LEAVE US EVEN WHEN WE ARE IN OUR DARKEST TIMES?

God ventures into the darkest nights and our hardest fights just to rescue us and He will do so over and over again. SOMEONE LOVES YOU SO MUCH THAT HE GOES TO BAT FOR YOU EVERY TIME EVIL TRIES TO CONSUME YOU. Like come on, be thankful for that!

Evil tried to consume me Sunday afternoon and in all honesty I almost let it. It's seems so easy to just give in and give up and let that person have your happiness because you are so tired of fighting. BUT that is not what God wants for you. He puts you in these times of trail so that you will seek Him and ask for Him. And guess what people, when you find Him and allow Him to guide you, you become that much stronger than whoever tried to take you down in the first place.

Step back from whatever situation you're in, remind yourself who tells you your worth and who's opinion matters, and then go into the fight with God as your protector. I promise you, HE WILL NOT LET YOU FAIL!

"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."

-Deuteronomy 31:6
